Important Factors for Raising Higher Fish Production

•The minimum water level in the fish pond should be 6 to 7 ft.

•Katla & Rohu should be reared in the pond, normally, in the ratio of 30:70

•Normal stocking in practice is 5000 per hectare however in case of fungacious fish stocking as high as 10,000 fish per hectare large size fish and (Boshai) gives excellent results.

•For Increasing the soil productivity of the fish pond 250 kgs of Lime/hectare, Should be used in 3-4 stalments.

•For Sufficient plankton availability in the fish ponds 10 tons of cow dung. This should be applied in 10 equa installments of 15 days intervals.

•If possible some fresh water should also be added in the fish pond every 15 days to increase oxygen and lowering the Pollution.

•Aerators should be used in ponds so that the fish gets required quantity of oxygen for proper growth.

•Mohan fish feed pellets / mash should be used in sufficient quantity for higher growth of fish.
